CHORALE SANDERS (THE NOVELLA) [ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & ABOUT THE AUTHOR]
I’d start with something like, “Dearest Gentle Reader….” but that’s like already taken so permit me to say instead, “Yo! What’s up? What’s up? What’s up?”
My name is Fafali Sedinam Nyamadzi. I’m from the Volta Region of Ghana, and if you know anything about people from the V/R, you know our names are hoooooge sentences. My first name, Fafali (pronounced far-far-lee) means ‘There is Peace’. Sedinam (pronounced Said-ee-nam) means ‘God has favoured me’. And Nyamadzi (um…I’m not sure how you can pronounce this in a way I’ll be happy about so just skip it) means ‘I don’t want any trouble’.
Yeah.
Many people who love me call me Fafa. Other people who also love me call me Fafs, Fali, Sed, Sedinam. Someone even calls me Fa. (So maybe you guys can be the new discovery and call me F, or S or M or N, or any of the letters in my name that rolls of your tongues easy).
My thoughts and works though…they know me as Mz. Sefa. If you come across this in any literary works (or tats, on a miserable boy), it is I. The one, the true, the only. Yeappp.
I wrote this book in 2020, when the world was almost falling apart. It was mostly boredom (and fear of that viral tune those pallbearers were playing. Google ‘pall-bearers’ right now if you forgot) , but I also put a lot of love into writing this. It is my first child, and I implore all of you to treat her right, Capisce?
Go on this journey with Chorale and Kay. I can’t promise you’ll love them because they do be acting coco sometimes, but you love me, and I’m funny, and I love you. So just read the damn book, okay?
I have been told what an attention seeker I am (Notice how I only mention the main characters once?). If you don’t write comments, I’ll ship myself off to a far, far away island where there’s no internet, nor civilization, and I’ll probably meet some apes and become a part of their family and I’ll be walking on all fours, eating bugs and grass, and then one hot afternoon, a pretty boy with curly hair will come by the island and we’ll fall in love and then we’ll live together in the woods, not happily ever after because, you know, the apes will struggle to adjust to him, and….
The story doesn’t end well. Just send many comments my way so I can enjoy a happily ever after with one fine son of Adam.
I love you.
Mz. Sefa💖
